Have you accessed a free climbing session through our climbing initiative?

We are collaborating with a final year occupational therapy student, Chloe, to investigate the effect of the C/A/M bouldering referral service ('the climbing initiative') on the mental wellbeing of service users.

Responses are anonymous and will be used to help us explore the impact of these sessions, along with how we can improve them.

THE C/A/M CLIMBING INITIATIVE

Supporting Mental Health.

Climbing walls across the UK, in support of Climb Alongside Mental Health, are providing a free climbing induction session for up to 2 adults* (No previous climbing experience necessary!)

*To be made eligible for the free climbing session, you must be referred by: A qualified healthcare professional, such as a therapist, counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist occupational health therapist, GP. Link workers and support workers can also sign referrals for individuals who have been referred to them for support with their mental health/wellbeing.

They can choose to either:

1) PRINT OUT and SIGN our simple referral form.

You then call and book your taster session, mention C/A/M when you book it, and bring the signed referral form to give to the climbing wall on the day of the session.

2) CONTACT the supporting climbing centre on your behalf and book the free session for you, referencing the climb with C/A/M initiative. You will still need to bring the signed referral form to give to the climbing wall on the day of the session.

Once the session is booked, GO Climbing! All kit is provided by the climbing centre and the staff will introduce you to climbing in a safe and supportive manner.
